LDM (Lomatium Dissectum) is another herbal medicine that had its discovery in the American Indian tribes of North America. During the fall of 1918 when the influenza epidemic visited a region of Nevada, the Washoe Indian tribe used Lomatium in the treatment of their sick. Weather a coincidence or not, there was not a single death in the Washoe tribe from influenza or its complications, while other Indians living in other parts of the State where the root did not grow died in numbers. Lomatium has the ability to supress the growth of 62 types of bacteria and fungi, and also has a good antibacterial and antiviral action.
